Your adventure begins as you arrive in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan. On landing, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with the initial formalities, such as airport transfer and check-in at your designated hotel. After settling in, you can take the rest of the day to rest and refresh from your journey.
If time allows, you might want to explore some of Islamabad’s renowned landmarks. Visit Faisal Mosque, the largest mosque in Pakistan, which is beautifully set against the backdrop of the Margalla Hills. The Pakistan Monument and Daman-e-Koh viewpoint are also worth a visit, offering panoramic views of the city. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner featuring local Pakistani cuisine, and prepare for the exciting journey ahead.
After an early breakfast, you will set out for Chilas, located on the banks of the Indus River. The drive typically takes about 10-12 hours, covering approximately 500 kilometers. As you travel, enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding mountainous regions, including the beautiful Naltar Valley.
You will pass through several interesting towns and landscapes, with plenty of opportunities to stop for pictures and stretch your legs. The journey lets you experience the stunning beauty of Northern Pakistan, where soaring peaks and deep valleys create a breathtaking backdrop.
Upon arriving in Chilas in the evening, you will check into a prearranged hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the opportunity for a leisurely walk around the town. Dinner will be served at the hotel, where you can ease into the slower pace of the northern regions, allowing you to adjust to the environment.
On this day, you’ll begin your trek to the mesmerizing Fairy Meadows. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before embarking on a thrilling drive from Chilas to Raikot Bridge. The distance is roughly 100 kilometers and will take approximately 2-3 hours, leading you through rugged terrain and striking sceneries.
Upon reaching Raikot Bridge, you’ll switch to a four-wheel drive jeep for the bumpy ride up to the start of the hiking trail near the base of Nanga Parbat. This ride takes about 1-2 hours through rugged paths, which will enhance the sense of adventure.
At the jeep drop-off point, you will commence a scenic trek to Fairy Meadows. This trek covers about 2-3 kilometers but can be steep and require a moderate level of fitness. The journey should take about 1-2 hours, and as you hike, you’ll be surrounded by lush greenery, wildflowers, and tantalizing views of Nanga Parbat in the distance.
Upon arriving at Fairy Meadows, you will be greeted by breathtaking views of the peak. This stunning plateau has earned its name for its picturesque scenery resembling a fairy tale landscape. Check into your accommodation—typically cozy wooden cabins or camping arrangements.
In the evening, gather around a bonfire, enjoy a hearty meal, and share stories of your day as you marvel at the starlit sky, which is typically clearer in this remote region.
Today, you will embark on an exhilarating trek to the Base Camp of Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest mountain in the world, known for its massive imposing face and beauty. Departing early in the morning after breakfast, take the trek that leads you through enchanting woodlands and rocky trails.
The hike to Base Camp is around 7 kilometers and can take about 3-4 hours. As you ascend, engage with local shepherds and enjoy the peaceful serenity of the surroundings, with the towering mountain always in sight.
Once at Base Camp, take ample time to absorb the majestic views and capture stunning photographs. Enjoy a packed lunch with spectacular scenery. After a refreshing break, retrace your steps back to Fairy Meadows, where you can relax and share your experiences with fellow travelers.
The evening can be spent indulging in local cuisine and enjoying the tranquil atmosphere under the stars.
After an unforgettable experience at Fairy Meadows, you will commence your journey back today. After breakfast, trek back down to the jeep point and board your 4×4 vehicle. The drive back to Raikot Bridge and then onto Chilas will encapsulate the scenic vistas of the valleys you traversed previously.
From Chilas, you will continue onward to Naran, another beautiful town located in the Kaghan Valley. This journey may take around 7-8 hours, and while it is a long travel day, the views of lush landscapes, rivers, and distant mountains will keep your spirit high.
Once in Naran, check into your hotel. Spend your evening exploring the surroundings, and perhaps take a constitution along the bank of the Kunhar River. Enjoy dinner, and relax for the night in preparation for your return trip.
On your final day, you will depart from Naran after breakfast, heading back to Islamabad. The drive will take approximately 6-8 hours, depending on traffic conditions and stops along the way.
Once you arrive in Islamabad, depending on your flight schedule, you can either proceed to the airport for your departure or, if time allows, enjoy a bit more sightseeing or shopping in the city. Our guide will assist you with any formalities and ensure you reach the airport in time.
